Rhinoplasty
A rhinoplasty procedure typically takes place under general anaesthetic and takes between 3-4 hours. More complicated and extensive procedures can occasionally take longer. Rhinoplasty can include both a functional or breathing element, and a cosmetic or appearance aspect. David Whitehead has extensive fellowship experience and day-to-day practice in addressing all aspects of the nose including reconstruction post-cancer surgery. His extensive experience in rhinology allows him to address all aspects of breathing through the nose, and not only cosmetic improvement, For many years he has moved away form rasps and osteotomes, and now almost exclusively uses ultrasonic devices to make precision bone cuts where needed. This has a signifcant advantage over older techniques, being a Otorhinolaryngologist, his entire training has involved the nose and cosmetic procedures involving the nose.

Blepharoplasty
Blepharoplasty, also known as eyelid reduction, is a surgical procedure to reshape the eyelids by removing excess fat and skin. Blepharoplasty is a highly effective treatment for the signs of ageing around the eye area and improves the common concerns of eye bags and hooded or droopy eyelids.
As we age, our skin and muscles lose elasticity, causing loss of tone, resulting in wrinkles and sagging. This causes the upper and lower eyelids to sag. As the skin around the eye area is especially delicate, the signs of ageing often occur here sooner than in other areas of the face. Loose skin accumulates as folds in the upper eyelids which can droop over the natural eyelid, obscuring the patient’s vision. The relaxation of the muscle in the lower eyelid causes the fat which cushions the eyes in their sockets to push forward, causing eyebags to appear.
Blepharoplasty is often combined with other procedures such as a facelift or eyebrow lift to enhance the overall result.

Face & Neck Lift
A facelift procedure typically takes place under general anaesthetic and takes between 4-6 hours. More complicated and extensive procedures can occasionally take longer. A facelift procedure aims to rejuvenate the appearance of the facial area and restore a more youthful and rejuvenated facial appearance. The most effective procedure is a deep plane face-lift, whch involves dividing the retaining ligaments of the face and resuspending the smas layer and redraping of the excess skin. Commonly additional volumising treatments are performed at the same time, which include micro-fat grafting to the chin, jawline, lips, cheeks and temples.
As we age, our faces show the most obvious signs of ageing. The most prominent are for aging is in the mid facial region. The facial skin envelope loses elasticity as we age, and this appears as a downward descent. There is often additional bone absorption which can be addresses with either filler or fat grafting.
